Knowledge Creation & Management in Resurgent India: New Challenges For B-Schools

Abstract:-
The changes in external environment demand continuous & rapid changes within the organization. LPG & advancement for information technology are the key driving force for growing corporate interest in knowledge as a source of competitive advantage. The recent economic slowdown has also made it imperative to create & manage knowledge worldwide.
In such a scenario, the role of b-school is increasing day by day as they are expected to build future managers by analyzing the potential within the management graduates and create knowledge by applying proactive & innovative approaches.
To compete successfully, companies are, nowadays, hiring, developing and retaining excellent candidates who accumulate valuable knowledge. So, creation of such a valuable knowledge among management graduates is the most important challenge in front of every b-school.
New knowledge is created with the combination of tacit and explicit knowledge. Innovation & creative ideas are the key factors of knowledge creation & management. Knowledge without its application is in vain and its application leads to creation. The four modes of knowledge conversion are created when tacit & explicit knowledge interacts with each other. These four major modes which are referred to as socialization, externalization, combination and internalization constitute the engine of the entire knowledge creation process.
This paper tries to find out the new dimensions of knowledge creation by b-schools in current Indian scenario.
